Greene County Busted Mugshots is a private, non-government reference service. It cannot confirm who is in custody, confirm a release, release anyone, post bond, or pull an official booking record. Questions about a person or record must go to the government office that holds that record.

Where Greene County Records Start

The only identified county booking facility is Greene County Jail, managed through the Greene County Sheriff’s Office. Greene County describes the jail as a 21-bed facility built in 1974 with major renovations in 2024. Those are facility facts, not a live custody count. The official contact block is useful for confirming the correct submission route, but the county site does not provide a public roster, same-day booking feed, multi-day arrest log, or booking-photo search.

The county’s official FOIA request form is the records-request path for existing jail or sheriff records, including a booking photograph when and if available. The sheriff page lists inmate visiting windows on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., subject to change or cancellation. Those are visitation windows, not records-office hours.

Use the following routing list for the question being asked. A booking entry is an accusation, not a finding of guilt, and a later court result may differ from the original charge.

  • Booking record or photo: ask the Greene County Sheriff’s Office or Jail about the existing record, then use the county FOIA form for a defined date range. Illinois FOIA and 50 ILCS 205/3b describe public-record and arrest-information rules, but neither creates a live county web roster.
  • Just-made arrest, current county custody, or a release alert: ask the sheriff or arresting agency for the official status. For confidential custody and case-status notifications, use Illinois VINE; it is not a photo feed.
  • Court date, disposition, supervision, or record-clearing forms: contact the Greene County Circuit Clerk, first floor, 519 North Main Street, Carrollton. The office lists Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at 217-942-3421. The court dates line is 217-942-6731. Pretrial or supervision questions belong with the court or the official pretrial-services office, not a jail record. Official Illinois Courts expungement and sealing forms explain the court process. They do not promise eligibility.
  • Possible Greene County warrant: ask the sheriff, arresting police department, or Circuit Clerk which official process confirms the current status. Most Wanted Fugitives explains the separate law-enforcement and court paths because no public Greene County warrant portal was located.
  • City police report: for an arrest made in Carrollton, White Hall, or Roodhouse, begin with the municipal department named in the record. No verified public city arrest blotter was located, and a city police report is separate from the county jail booking record.
  • Sentenced state custody and a current state photo: use the Illinois Department of Corrections Individual in Custody Search. IDOC is a state-sentenced custody system after commitment and transfer, not a Greene County Jail search.
  • Federal or immigration custody: use the separate Federal Bureau of Prisons Inmate Locator for BOP custody or the separate ICE Online Detainee Locator for immigration custody. These paths have different search rules and neither is a Greene County booking-photo source.

For an inaccurate criminal-record entry, distinguish a correction request from a request to remove an accurate record. 815 ILCS 505/2QQQ addresses correction demands and paid removal or modification requests. The originating agency, publisher, or court controls the record at issue.
