Why Greene County Sources Matter
Illinois makes many arrest and booking details public, but the right source depends on the record being sought. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office identifies Greene County Jail at 403 Seventh Street in Carrollton and maintains the county booking operation. The official material reviewed for this county does not provide a public online roster, current booking feed, booking-photo result page, warrant portal, or county sheriff app. That absence makes source boundaries important. A jail contact page is not the same as a live custody list, and a booking record is not a court finding.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office page, the county’s FOIA request form, and the Greene County Circuit Clerk page show three different parts of the records trail. The Illinois Department of Corrections supplies a separate photo and custody system after a state sentence and transfer. The courts hold hearings and dispositions after booking. This site brings those source distinctions, official links, and plain-language explanations together. It does not store official records or publish a face gallery.
Several Illinois rules help explain the limits. Illinois FOIA provides the written-request framework. 50 ILCS 205/3b describes arrest information supplied to news media, including a photograph when and if available and custody transitions. 815 ILCS 505/2QQQ addresses inaccurate criminal-record information and correction demands. The Illinois Courts expungement and sealing forms are the official starting point for court remedies. None of these sources turns Greene County’s private reference pages into an official record custodian.
The Greene County Page Set
The page set follows the actual Greene County source map. It keeps related topics together instead of sending readers to pages that do not exist.
- Greene County Busted Mugshots is the county mega-hub for booking records, recent-arrest source limits, the FOIA path, custody-status tools, court follow-up, and state or federal alternatives.
- Most Wanted Fugitives explains how local warrant information differs from a state wanted list because no official Greene County warrant portal was located.
- Crime News traces dated reporting back to official sources, while Carrollton, White Hall, and Roodhouse pages preserve each city’s distinct police and news path.
- State-sentenced custody uses the IDOC Individual in Custody Search. Federal custody and immigration custody use the separate BOP locator and ICE locator.
There is no separate Greene County roster, booking-feed, arrest-log, warrant, removal, or detention-facility page. The county jail is the identified booking facility, and the county-wide page carries the broader records and access explanation.
What This Service Cannot Do
Greene County Busted Mugshots is privately operated. It has no affiliation with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, Greene County Jail, Illinois Department of Corrections, any police department, any court, or another government agency. It does not possess official custody files or act for a record custodian.
- It cannot release, hold, or transfer a person in custody.
- It cannot post bond, arrange a visit, or send money for another person.
- It cannot change a booking entry, charge, court file, or disposition.
- It cannot give legal advice or decide whether a record qualifies for sealing or expungement.
These limits are deliberate: a county booking, a VINE status, an IDOC result, and a court disposition are separate records, and this service does not merge them into an official answer.
Search Partners
Some search boxes are operated by third-party providers rather than by Greene County Busted Mugshots. Those providers set their own prices, terms, and result policies. If a visitor follows a tool to a paid signup, this service may receive a referral fee that helps support the pages. A referral does not mean the provider is a government source or that its results are controlled, complete, or current.
